Wedding Wednesday: Bollywood Edition

The beautiful couple: Arpeeta & Arpan Bhattacherjee
I was lucky enough to be a bridesmaid for my amazing friends Arpeeta and Arpan. The second I met them we became inseparable and they are my favorite couple ever. I was thrilled to be a part of this event not only because I love them so much but also because absolutely everything they do is epic. I have never attended an Indian wedding before but what I knew from them it was going to be a 10 day non-stop celebration. The whole thing was planned by the amazing David Tutera— he was not only so sweet but so incredibly talented. From beginning to end, each event was extravagant and beautiful. I have never seen such amazing colors, flowers, venues and décor. David and his team truly killed it and turned Arpeeta and Arpan’s dreams into reality. I apologize in advance for all of the photos, but I couldn’t help but share every moment with you all.

Sangeet

The Sangeet was an amazing celebration held at the Fairmont in San Jose. The colors and flowers were absolutely spectacular. My only regret is that I did not take more photos, but I was too busy dancing and enjoying all of the festivities. The Sangeet was set up almost like an Indian bazaar. There were henna tents set up so that all of the guests could receive their henna for the wedding. There were barrels of jewelry, handbags and shoes for the guests. Mika Singh was flown in for the event and everyone loved it!

Ceremony

The ceremony was such a magical event. The day started off at The Four Seasons downtown San Francisco. All the girls met there for hair & makeup, lunch and to get our saris professionally draped. The saris were custom made in India and it was by far the most beautiful bridesmaid dress I have ever worn. The beading was insane and the color looked great on everyone. The bride got her hair and makeup done by Daniel Bauer, it was so amazing watching him work. He truly is an artist and Arpeeta has never looked more beautiful. Her gown was custom made and the color was so beautiful. It really made me think that we have been doing western weddings wrong this entire time, white is so boring!  After all the girls were ready we took a limo to the Legion of Honor for the ceremony. Arpan rode in on a horse while everyone around him danced to the drums. After the ceremony we had the most amazing Indian meal and then danced all night. The flowers and table settings at this event truly put Kim and Kanye’s to shame.

Reception

The reception was the final event of the wedding week. Everyone was so sad for it to end, but we had the best time. The event was held at Metreon City View. It had an amazing view of the entire city and an outdoor terrace that you could go out on if you needed a break from dancing. The decor of this venue was super modern which I loved; and the lighting was seriously amazing. D Sharp performed and was so awesome! The entire week was truly amazing. It was so great to spend so much time with my best friends, and catch up with the friends I don’t get to see as often. Congratulations to Arpeeta and Arpan- the most fun couple on the entire planet. And thank you for including me in all of your festivities, it was a week I will never forget.
