Confession time: I have an addictive personality. Like, really addictive. In seventh grade my entire life was dedicated to A.J. McLean and The Backstreet Boys- I lived, breathed and dreamed all things BSB. Then sophomore year, it was Bebe. I’m not joking you when I say my entire closet was Bebe- I probably had 30 or more variations of those rhinestone tanks. And then came Juicy Couture- which led most of my friends from college to call me “Juice.” I wore that and nothing but that for my entire time at Santa Clara University. Twelve years later, I can’t shake the nickname and some of my nearest and dearest still call me that. So by now you get the drift- when I like something I really really like it. I have taken the liberty of sparing you the details of my panda obsession, Paris Hilton, menthol cigarettes, Tom Ford, and pretending I was a witch. But all of these embarrassing stories bring me to this grey sweater.
I have A LOT of grey tops. Sweaters, tunics, tees, night shirts, sweatshirts, workout tops. But when I saw this sweater, I had to have it. “It is so different from all my other ones,” I told myself. And it really is; the slits on the side add some sex appeal, and the cutout shoulder detail is what makes this sweater stand out from all the other ones in my closet.
Now onto some bad news — one of the downsides of being a blogger is buying something amazing, having it sell out and not being able to share it with you guys. This exact situation happened with this Just One Answer (J.O.A.). sweater. I bought this to wear over Christmas and shot it, but then it was gone 🙁 Obviously I wasn’t the only one who notices how amazing it was. I wasn’t going to post this look at all but then Emily found the perfect replacement! This Express sweater is an exact dupe of the one I’m wearing… And a fraction of the price. I always love a good splurge vs. steal, so shoutout to my bestie for finding the perfect replacement.
I was so excited when I saw that almost the exact same sweater was available for less than $50! This sent me on a manhunt to find more options. The cutout detail of the sweater makes it so original, plus the light grey color adds a softness to the look. Surprisingly, there are a lot of options for this same style sweater– and even a dress by J.O.A. which I am obsessed with. Shop my favorite lookalikes below!
