My favorite kinds of blog posts or YouTube videos are always “What’s in My Bag” — I love that some of the magazines have been starting to do this too. Since I love them so much, I thought I’d give you a peek at what’s inside of my beach bag!
I’ve been using a FEED bag as my beach bag for years now. I just got this one for this summer. I love the bright colors. Not only is it cute, but it provided 50 school meals for children around the world. FEED is one of our favorite brands and they never continue to disappoint.
So it may seem crazy that I have three different sunscreens in my bag, but hear me out. I use the VenEffect anti-aging in the mornings or when I’m done in the sun but not going straight to a shower. There is nothing worse than dry skin after getting out of the pool, lake or beach — so if I am headed to grab a quick bite to eat or stop for a drink, this stuff is crucial. This stuff is seriously amazing, it boosts collagen, helps lighten dark spots and reverses signs of sun damage.
Underneath my makeup, or if I’m wearing no makeup – my sunscreen base is this Coola Classic Face SPF 30. I have really oily skin, so finding a sunscreen that doesn’t break me out is really hard. I also love the refreshing cucumber scent of this one!
I have been using the Colorescience Sunforgettable Powder Sunscreen for years. I love putting this on over my makeup if I’m in a beach or pool situation where I need to look good. It’s so easy to touch up — and also kills any shine you have going on on your face. It’s SO easy to use. It’s paraben and phthalate free; plus a portion of the proceeds goes to the fight against Skin Cancer. I first tried this from my dermatologist but has since won the InStyle best beauty buy award & is now available at Sephora.
I always carry a brush and some type of hair product in my beach bag. I have been loving the Fromm Glosser brush ( check out their blowout brush too– it’s amazing! The Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray has been a staple of mine for years — it’s perfect for keeping those beachy waves in your hair!
Of course, I always have a book, a beverage and some perfume in my beach bag. My favorite summer scent is Neroli Portofino – I really can’t imagine summers without it. I’m going to be doing a book post next week that I am really excited about — so stay tuned for that!
