Day 2 of NYFW was our most busy day, but probably the most rewarding as well. We had 2 photo shoots, 4 shows and presentations, not to mention trying to squeeze in some quality time with our favorite blogger girls. Crazy busy doesn’t even begin to cut it.
Shop Our Looks:
For our second day of fashion week, we started out with hair and makeup at our hotel by the awesome people at GlamSquad. It’s a little unnerving to have people you hardly know come up to your hotel room and then to trust them with your hair and makeup, but we couldn’t have been happier with the results. Half way through, the electricity went out in our room (these old New York buildings are a little finicky) but we rolled with the punches, and our GlamSquad really pulled through. Emily’s amazing hair stylist found a working outlet and we moved the whole GlamSquad to the hallway. All in all it was an amazing experience (we’d be happy to share our artist’s names if you want them – just email us) and we headed out for Day 1 of fashion week feeling amazing.
Before heading to the shows, we shot some photos for the blog with one of our college friends, Alex, who lives in the city. She attended Parsons, and now has her own fashion tech start-up, so getting to catch up with her was a dream. Not to mention – shooting with her was absolutely incredible. She has the most amazing eye, (as you can see from the photos above) and we felt SO comfortable. Check out her website >>> here.
Oday Shakar:
After shooting with Alex, our second day really started. Our first show of the day was Oday Shakar’s NYFW debut and it was nothing short of amazing. Every look he sent down the runway was swoon worthy and we both left wanting literally EVERY piece in our closets.

Lisa N Hoang:
The next show we attended was Lisa Hoang and it was so much fun as well – mainly because we went with an incredible group of blogger friends and it was amazing to get to experience it with all of them.
Nicole Miller:
Next, we headed to Nicole Miller. At Nicole Miller, we got to go backstage and see where the magic really happens. It was amazing to get to see everything that goes into the shows – behind the scenes – and to get to see and talk to the models. All the nail art was done by ZOYA and we were loving the graphic orange/army green prints (see below).
Katie Gallagher:
After Nicole Miller, we headed to dinner and drinks with some blogger girlfriends, and then had to head straight to Katie Gallaher. She showed her collection in a gallery, and the highlight of this show was again, getting to see all of our blogger girlfriends, and all of the edgy bomber jackets and bodysuits.
After the Katie Gallagher presentation we decided to be SUPER touristy and head to Serendipity for frozen hot chocolates and french fries with some of our blogger/PR friends. All in all it was an amazing day – and you can shop our favorite trends from Day 2 below.
