Mistletoe & Mimosas

Believe me, I know the holidays can be a stressful time for everyone. Between shopping, baking, attending parties, seeing family, traveling, hosting dinner parties, decorating – you name it- everyone has a lot going on. With all the holiday hustle and bustle, who has time to figure out what to wear? That is why I love this easy look. A graphic tee is one of my favorite ways to be festive- but also comfortable and not over the top.

The weekend before Thanksgiving, my friends thew a holiday progressive. The theme was Holiday / Winter. While I give mad props to my friends who showed up dressed as reindeer or Christmas trees, I am not that organized. I headed to Target in hopes to find the perfect outfit – I didn’t want to spend a ton of money but still wanted to look cute. I wanted to get the two-person ugly sweater, but Joe was not on board with that idea. I ended up with this Mistletoe & Mimosas shirt, and this Ho Ho Ho shirt (also seen on Shop Our Snaps). I ended up wearing the Ho Ho Ho shirt to the progressive and saved this one for our trip to Monterey. This scarf was my favorite Black Friday find- and it’s still on major discount. I have worn it twice so far and each time, received so many compliments- and for $10, it makes the perfect gift.
After the Thanksgiving excitement died down, Joe and I headed to Monterey for a little staycation. I haven’t been in forever and wanted to show him all the places I used to go to when I was a kid. We had lunch in downtown Carmel at The Forge and then took a long drive along the coast. Driving past all the beaches brought back so many memories of previous family vacations. When I was younger,  my dad would buy bags of seashells at the tourist shops and hide them along the beach for me and my sister to “find” – imagine our shock when he told us his secret years later. My favorite part of going to Monterey was always dinner at the Chart House – I guess even when I was young I had expensive taste.  I was so excited to bring Joe here and experience the beautiful view and the charm of Cannery Row.
