To say I’ve been slacking on wedding content is an understatement. I also didn’t want to be that annoying girl who can’t shut up about her wedding, but I did want to give you the content I promised you. This will be the last post from our City Hall Ceremony and then we will moving onto the fun stuff — all the reception content! Yay! This post is all about my ceremony wedding dress! My Ceremony Wedding Dress
I never ever thought I would be the white dress wearing the type of bride. Ever. But when I was looking up all the wedding photos from San Francisco City Hall – I just loved the way the white looked with the background of City Hall. And since our reception was SO non-traditional, I figured I would want to have these memories to look back on. My mom was hoping for a veil – but I had to draw the line somewhere, haha.
I went to the Anthropologie store in Palo Alto to try on some BHLDN dresses to get an idea for what I liked. I actually liked so many but ended up going with this one. I loved the simplicity of it. It’s actually barely showing up in the photos, but if you look closely there is a piece of mesh that goes across my collarbone. This gave the dress a bit more modest touch, plus the color of it was SO gorgeous! I wanted to jazz the dress up a bit so I went with this sash – it was the first one I picked and I’m so glad I did.
They took my measurements and ordered me the perfect size dress! The whole process was so easy! I knew I’d need a few alterations so they recommended Hemster. It’s this amazing start-up that comes to your home to do all of your fittings and alterations. Honestly, the last thing I had time to do was go run these errands and so Hemster totally saved my life. They did such an amazing job and were super professional.
