Even though the Northeast just got the snow storm of the century… we’ve been having THE nicest weather around here. It’s been mid sixties and sunny every day, and it’s made me want to dress like it’s spring – even though it’s barely March.
Crazy, I know!
It should come as no surprise that I am a huge fan of everything nautical. I was a DG in college – well I still am a DG – and that pretty much makes me, by default, obsessed with everything with anchors and stripes. More than that, I grew up on the Eastern seaboard, where the “preppy, nautical style” is pretty much a way of life. Really — it’s just a part of who I am.
That being said, when I saw these amazing striped linen pants – in mid February – I knew I had to have them. They made my nautical-loving heart sing, and the price was so fantastic, I couldn’t say no. Plus, when I tried them on, (right after I had David) the elastic waistband and the flowy leg, were just SO forgiving and flattering. Even now, a month later, I am loving them just as much.
There are just some pants that make you feel good about yourself when you put them on, and these are those pants.
The stripes run vertically on these pants – and as we all know – vertical stripes are universally slimming. What’s more, they are SO comfortable, and they come in two other colors – white and army green. Full disclosure, I enjoy the striped ones so much, I am probably going back for the other two. I can imagine wearing them all spring and summer with t-shirts and a denim jacket for days at the park, or with a lacy cami and heels for a night out with my husband.
