Did you know September is National Yoga Month? I just found out! As much as I want to do yoga more regularly, the truth is — I don’t. I am greedy with my workouts. If I am spending upwards of $30 on a class, and an hour of my day, I want maximum calorie burn, I want to leave there drenched in sweat. But that all comes at a cost. It made me realize that I have a huge problem managing stress (check out a few of the articles here, here and here). I put a lot of stress on my body; both physical and mental. Here’s what my average week looks like:
Monday: Arms & Abs
Tuesday: Butt & Legs
Wednesday: Chest, back and, abs or legs again.
Thursday: Rest
Friday: Full Body
Saturday: Full Body
Sunday: Rest
There is no yoga, no stretching, no foam rolling — nothing that is helping to repair my body built into my schedule anywhere. I am finally seeing the bigger picture and refocusing my priorities on doing what’s necessary for my mind and body. So, next month, I am starting my membership at a yoga studio, and I am going to start with a realistic goal: one class a week. I will keep you guys updated on how it affects my anxiety, stress, and soreness!
Now to the good stuff: the outfit. You guys know Beyond Yoga is one of my favorite brands — their leggings are insanely comfy! I have been wearing them for years and the items all hold up so well. This particular set is the softest workout gear I have ever worn in my entire life. The leggings are crazy high waisted which I love! And the bra has the cutest little back detail.
