If you’re a Bay Area girl, then you have heard of & most likely been to Toss Designs. If you haven’t, then we are going to tell you why you need to know about them.

Toss Designs was founded by Jennifer Hogan. It is your one stop shop for ANY kind of gift. They have everything from cheese platters, Kate Spade tumblers, candles, monogram bags, bridesmaids gifts– I mean, you name it, they have it. It is a girl’s dream come true. I had the pleasure to interview Jennifer about her journey as a fashion lover turned business woman.

Interview with Toss Designs Founder:

1) How did you get the idea for Toss?

I absolutely love to shop and many times I would find things that just missed.  This inspired me to go to fashion school and learn how to make a business out of a void in the market.2) Who is the “Toss” girl?

2) Who is the “Toss” girl?

The Toss girl ranges in age from 8 years old (who are obsessed with our lunch totes) to grandmothers who love to buy Toss as gifts for their daughters and granddaughters.   We have a wide range of products, something for everyone.

3) For someone who has never been into a Toss boutique, describe it in three words.

Inviting, fun and addicting.

4) What advice do you have for someone who wants to turn their love of fashion into a business?

Get a job or intern in the industry with a brand/business you relate to.  Learn a little about every aspect of the business.  You will naturally know what the right fit is, and what excites you.  Take that and build a career around your strengths.

5) Top three items in the store right now? (Mine are those Hermes coasters!!!!)

Our reversible bags, Hermes framed prints and the new apparel are the hot items this month!

6) Who inspires you?

Oscar is my favorite designer in the world, but my real inspiration comes from many places.   I get my best inspiration when I travel, my mind relaxes and I can develop a whole collection sitting on a beach watching all the pretty people with great style.
