I just got back from a whirlwind 72 hours in LA. I grabbed my best girls, Katie from Lola and Ivy and Kat from KatwalkSF and dragged them down to Los Angeles for a fun girls trip. I was dying to go to the new Barry’s Bootcamp in Venice and luckily, they were willing to accompany me!
Right when we landed we picked up our wheels for the weekend — this amazing Cadillac ATS. It was such a treat to be able to drive everywhere and not have to take Ubers. The car was so much fun to drive and we had a blast cruising around town listening to The Morning Breath podcast — so many laughs to get us through traffic!
Our first top was Top Round for lunch. It was the best roast beef sandwich I had ever had. Thanks Kat for capturing these amazing food photos. I need to take you on every trip with me since I suck at the food pics. I actually just got to attend the opening of Top Round in SF too, I took Joe to the event and he was obsessed! If you’re in LA or SF, definitely check them out — amazing prices and such delicious food!
We laid low the first day since our flights were all delayed. We spent the afternoon working, and then we headed to SUR for dinner. I have nothing nice to say about our experience there — so I’m going to skip it.
The next day was by far our busiest. We headed to Barry’s Venice for class with Miss Moore Style. It was the most gorgeous space I have ever seen! They even give you cold towels after class and the stretching lounge was out of this world. I will definitely be going back down there just for Barry’s.
After class, we went to Lemonade in Venice beach to meet our girl Krista, from Hundred Blog. She is one of those people who feels like we are best friends even though we’d never actually met. We had such an amazing lunch with great conversation. I love chatting with other bloggers and bouncing ideas off one another. We spent the afternoon working before heading out to meet Kat’s friends and family at the Jonathan Club.
On Friday, I finally got to take Aaron’s class at Cycle House LA. Whoa is all I can say. It was one of the best spin classes I have ever taken — definitely the hardest. I was obsessed with him when he was on the show and it was amazing getting to experience it in person. We all loved it and even wanted to go back before our flight the next day, but tequila happened. We walked along Melrose and stopped at Alfred for breakfast.
The rest of the day was spent in a cabana at the W Los Angeles – West Beverly Hills where we were staying. Guys, the food was SO good. We literally ordered everything — deviled eggs, avocado toast, fries, and the lobster BLT. It had been freezing in San Francisco, so it was amazing to spend a few hours soaking up the sun.I highly recommend staying at this hotel. The rooms were so spacious and the location was central to everything!
We finished off the trip with a fun night out with my best friend from college, Kevin. He lives in LA, and I rarely get to see him. We had an amazing dinner at Tallula and then went out for drinks (too many of them) at the Shangri La. It was a quick trip and we definitely packed a lot in!
