So I know that Emily has mentioned that her Joe makes fun of her when she wears her Brixton hat (see here); well my Joe seriously hates these pants. But I don’t care- I love them. This past weekend we went out to celebrate our anniversary. I know what you’re thinking, another anniversary? But this was our actual anniversary, not just our first date anniversary. Joe had planned a romantic date night for us but it was freezing outside so I was struggling picking out an outfit. I didn’t want to get too dressed up because we had to go to prom the next night (more on that later). We had dinner reservations at Cliff House, which is right on the water and up on a cliff- aka freezing. So I wanted to wear these pants with booties and a leather jacket. He seriously came in the room and laughed at my “snowflake pajama pants.” I was sad- but not surprised. Boys just do not get some of our fashion trends. Especially hats, rompers, jumpsuits, and evidently these jogger pants. And don’t get me started on their opinions regarding caftans and kimonos. So I wore jeans, my favorite BB Dakota jacket and flat boots and saved this outfit for Sunday. The dinner was amazing- we shared crab cakes, and I had the Thai style seafood bouillabaisse. The food, the view plus a giant glass of Pinot Noir made for the perfect night.
We had such a blast at prom on Saturday. Everyone looked so beautiful and it was so much fun to see everyone all dressed up. Last year I went by myself so it was nice to have my date with me. It was a long night but it was worth it.
Sunday I woke up early to make breakfast for Joe- his favorite- chocolate chip pancakes. After breakfast I attempted to make some decorated donuts (post will be up later this week). Not sure why I was feeling so domestic, but I’ve been making an attempt to be better. In the afternoon I had plans with my girlfriends to try on bachelorette party outfits (we are going to Palm Springs next weekend- keep an eye out for these epic posts!) and to online shop together. Yes, that is a thing we do. Please don’t judge. This was the perfect crowd to wear my so-called snowflake pants (FYI they are actually called “black circle”). The girls loved them- see, Joe- they are cute.
Now onto my favorite part of the outfit… the shoes. I wish I could take credit for finding these shoes- it was actually my friend Brannan. But I loved them soooo much I had to order them for myself. They are so comfortable and will last forever- so I don’t feel as guilty for the investment. Thanks for the inspo, B!
Here are some random snaps from the weekend:
