Hospital Bag || Baby Bag || Toiletry Bags
My last pregnancy, I went into labor unannounced and ended up having to panic repack my whole bag! So this time around, I am getting it done EARLY – snacks and all. Keep reading to see everything I am packing in my scheduled c-section hospital bag.
Scheduled C-Section Hospital Bag
Postpartum Underwear
Vaginal or C-section, these are most definitely a necessity. These ones by Always aren’t hideous, which helps a bit! I don’t remember any post-partum bleeding but I do remember having to wear these for about a week, so it must have happened. Birth is so funny in the sense that you block out so much of it. I prefer these to the ones the hospital gives you so I bring my own.
Pillow
The hospital pillows exist so the hospital can say “We have pillows. They aren’t good pillows, but they’re pillows.” BRING YOUR OWN and make it this one! So cozy and comfortable. A good pillow before, during, and after giving birth makes all the difference
Blanket
Pillows and blankets are in the same boat at the hospital. They exist, but not for your comfort! 100% bring your own blanket so you’re as cozy as possible. Obviously, I recommend the In the Wild Barefoot Dreams blanket—it’s the best. It made me feel right at home.
Long Charger
Be sure you’re powered up and can text and scroll while you charge in bed—it’s a game-changer mentally. I listened to a lot of podcasts last time, and took ALL the photos.
Skincare
I always feel like my skin is extra dry after birth, so I lather extra moisture on. A brightening eye cream is also a must!
Dry Shampoo
No explanation needed.
Slippers
I like to do lots of laps after my surgery so the slippers are a must. I also wear these to and from the hospital.
Nightgown
There is nothing more uncomfortable than the hospital gowns. The snaps, the ties, the print – all of it is so bad. I always bring my own!
Pajamas
I have packed Skims pajamas for every single baby now! It’s tradition. They are my absolute favorite.
Sleep Shirt
This is important especially if you want to breast feed or pump in the hospital – something with buttons is a must.
Water Cup
I always bring my own! Staying hydrated after birth or a c-section is so important!
Grip Socks
Definitely necessary when on pain killers / no sleep.
Hair Ties
I never leave the house without these – they are the only ones that actually hold my hair in place.
Lip Balm
Your lips will also be super dry, I keep this on my tray right next to my water cup.
Pumping Bra
Every baby I say I am going to pump at the hospital but have yet to do it – let’s see if third times a charm!
Colostrum Collectors
Again, something I say I will do every single time but have not yet.
Going Home Outfit
I keep this VERY simple. I hate the pressure we put on ourselves to look put together after birth. It’s just not necessary! I just wear sweats or leggings. Trust me, you won’t want anything else!
