My Dad and I just returned from our annual Father/Daughter 49er trip. Every year we pick an away game in a fun city and head there for the weekend. This year it was Chicago. In December. When we booked the trip, I knew I would need some new warm weather gear.
I’m from Reno- where the snow is plentiful- but I’ve been in California for 11 years now. San Francisco gets cold- but a pea coat and a scarf is always sufficient. Leading up to the trip, I was expecting the worst- snow, blizzard, windstorm. Since Soldier Field is outside, I was on the hunt for something that would keep me warm for the duration of the game.
These Sorel Boots are perfect for any kind of acclimate weather. They are steam sealed, which means they are the most waterproof of waterproof. And they have a temperature rating of -25F. And what I love most about them- they are adorable. Although we got super lucky with the weather when we were there, these boots were still great to have. Even though it was around 45 degrees, I stayed bundled the entire trip. Hat, gloves, scarf, boots, jacket – the whole nine.
The jacket, scarf, and beanie were Black Friday finds at Old Navy. The beanie is sold out, but the jacket and scarf are still on major sale!
We had a fantastic trip. Some of my favorite highlights were dinner at RPM Steak, shopping on Michigan Ave., the infamous Billy Goat Tavern, taking my dad to see The Bean, drinks at Trump. stopping in at Riccardo Trattoria (my favorite restaurant in the whole world) and of course– popcorn from Garrett. Most importantly, we brought home a win and had a great trip together.
