More Sweaters Under $100

Hi Loves,

I hope you’re all having a great start to your week! I don’t know about you, but I am SO excited that sweater weather is almost here! Here in Northern Nevada our mornings and evenings are chilly, but it’s been hitting 80 degrees during the day. :/ I’ve definitely made the mistake a couple of times of throwing on a cozy cable knit in the morning, only to find that by noon, I’m melting. Oh well. I know the crisp fall days are just around the corner, and with every pumpkin spice latte I drink, they’re only getting closer.

That being said… it’s time to prepare for sweater weather. It’s really never too early to start. I know I’ve told you guys the story of my favorite cable knit sweaters… but I’m going to tell it again. They’re easily my most asked about item of clothing on this blog and on snapchat as well.  A couple of years back, Old Navy had THE most amazing cable knit sweaters out. My mom actually found them, and after she wore one to dinner at our house, I went to the store and bought like 3. I guess no one knew about these sweaters, because at the end of the season there was a surplus and they went on sale. I mean like serious sale. They were only $10 each.

Now remember – I already had plenty of these sweaters – but I figured they were such a good deal, why not buy them in the classic colors and have them as backups?!? I do this all the time… when I find something I like, I buy it in every size and color available and I just stick to it. Anyhow, I am OH- SO happy I did. They never made them again, and I think I might be the only person in America with a stash of them. 🙂 And I get so many compliments every time I wear one.

So… now that I’ve tempted you with the perfect sweater…  I know, I know… I’m sorry… I have found many other sweaters that are just as great. I promise. Now, I’m about to let you in on one of my little sweater pearls of wisdom here… so don’t skip this part….

With sweaters… I always think it is always appropriate to size up. ALWAYS.

In fact… sometimes I think it is appropriate to size up two sizes. In fact, I just got a sweater from Nordstrom and even though I’m normally a size Small, I got this particular sweater in a size L. Why? You might ask… well… if we’re being honest, Large was the only size left… but also because it’s my sweater rule of thumb. Nothing is worse than a sweater that is too small. (Unless it’s meant to be a crop top sweater – then by all means… get your Small on… but… those are not the kind of sweaters I’m talking about here). Sweaters, to me, are meant to be oversized and cozy… they’re meant to be longer… and they’re meant to still fit after a couple of washes.

Am I right?

So… keep my sweater rule of thumb in mind the next time you’re sweater shopping. I promise you’ll be happy you did.

P.S. the sweater I ordered a large in, is right below… and I AM OBSESSED with it! It is SO amazing!!! XooX
