I’ve been religiously shopping on Ebay for three years now, and because we partner with them so frequently on the blog, I wanted to talk a little bit about my experiences and how I make the most of everything Ebay has to offer.
I first started shopping on Ebay – three years ago – thanks to my girlfriend, Lauren. It was hilarious, we had been out to dinner one night, we’d had a few too many margaritas, and I was saying how I was DYING over a Nili Lotan slip dress that one of the Real Housewives of New York had worn. The only problem was that it was a couple of seasons old, and I couldn’t find it anywhere. My friend, Lauren, asked… “Well have you tried Ebay?”
No. I hadn’t.
But wouldn’t you know, the exact dress was on the site – New With Tags. AND it was a quarter of the cost of retail. I HAD to have it. So that night she set me up an account, and I’ve been happily Ebay-ing ever since. I use the site to buy clothes for my whole family. They have amazing deals on Ralph Lauren goodies for my kids – and I am ALWAYS shopping for myself as well. My tortoise shell Celine sunnies are from there, I buy a ton of my Frame Denim Jeans there, and when I was pregnant I bought a ton of maternity pieces there as well.
What people don’t know about Ebay is that it’s super easy to use, most of the time you don’t have to bid, most of the items are BRAND NEW, and the app has an amazing setting that allows you to save your searches. <<< This is my lifeline. So say you are looking for something very specific – like Jimmy Choo Romy Pumps in a size 38.5 (pictured in the photos)… Well, you can save your search on the website, or in your app (my personal preference) and you will get alerts to your phone whenever there are new matching listings.
It is literally like having THE best personal shopper!
