As many of you know, Ashley and I live 4 hours apart. She lives in San Francisco and I live in Reno. Although we’d love to get to see each other every day, it just isn’t possible. In order to keep up with each other, and the blog, we often schedule “blog weekends” where all we do is shoot, content plan, and concentrate on – the blog – and the blog only. That being said, we’ve realized over the years that the best way to do this is to give ourselves a home base without any distractions, and the Intercontinental San Francisco was our perfect place to do just that.
To start with, the hotel is absolutely stunning. The reception area is open and modern, there is a beautiful lounge area just past that, and if you take a couple steps further you run into the gorgeous Bar 888 and then the Michelin starred Luce restaurant. Because we were having a working weekend – like I said, no distractions – we headed straight up to our room. The view was incredible. We had floor to ceiling windows around the whole room, and the sweeping views of San Francisco were the perfect backdrop for our creative work. In short, the Inetercontinental San Francisco was the most perfect, most relaxing place to make our home for the weekend.
Now let’s talk about the important stuff. The hotel staff was amazing. They were able to help up with every weird request we had, and when you’re dealing with bloggers, there are many. The robes – something by which I judge every hotel – were so cozy. And the room service…. SO Good. So quick, and…. the Belgian waffle and berries I had for breakfast – absolutely to die for. I am still dreaming about it.
If we had more time to relax, we would have loved to visit their incredible spa – so many of my girlfriends rave about it, and it is definitely on my to-do list for the next time I’m in town.
Ashley and I have stayed pretty much everywhere when it comes to hotels in San Francisco, but this was definitely a stay to remember and we’ll definitely be back to the Intercontinental San Francisco on our next blog weekend!
