When I got pregnant this time around, I decided I would only buy a couple of maternity pieces – pieces that I knew I would be able to wear before and after pregnancy – more to come on that later. But… as every woman knows… just “a couple” of pieces aren’t going to get you through a whole nine…. errr ten months.
That being said, I signed up for Rent The Runway Unlimited.
Now if you’ve never used Rent The Runway, it’s a service that allows you to rent designer items for a small fee. Usually I use it for formal events that I’ve put off shopping for. I’m horrible about that. But once I got pregnant, I realized I should be using Rent The Runway for so much more.
I signed up for their unlimited option in my first month of pregnancy, and I’ve been using it ever since. In fact. I definitely won’t be stopping once I have the baby either. It’s amazing. For $139 a month you can have three “unlimited” items shipped to your door. Once you wear them, you send them back, and then you select three more items to receive. The best part? You can re-select as many times as you want to per month.
For me, it’s been life changing. Now, instead of having to buy something new every time I have to attend an event, I just update my Rent The Runway Unlimited order. The best part is that as my belly grows, I can just up my size – that way I don’t have a closet full of dresses and clothes that are too large for me once I’m not pregnant anymore. It really is a pregnant girl’s dream, but as I said, I will definitely continue my membership after I have the baby as well. It’s also nice, because I can incorporate trendier pieces into my wardrobe regularly, without having to make the investment.
