The Perfect Wedding Guest Dress

Ashley and I absolutely love wedding season, and we are so lucky that so many of our nearest and dearest are tying the knot this summer. Get excited for an incredible Wedding Wednesday tomorrow!
Yay for Bunny and Jon!
However, even though we love this time of year so much, dressing for summer weddings can be kind of tricky. Is it going to be casual or formal? Is it on the beach or at a vineyard? Is the weather going to be hot or cool? How far are we going to have to walk?
All legitimate questions when you’re deciding what to wear.
Anyhow, I’ve found the dress that is pretty much perfect for all summer weddings no matter what the location, the weather, or the trek. This BCBG number is made out of the lightest fabric in the world, it doesn’t wrinkle no matter how long you have to sit, and it is flattering without being showy. My cardinal rule of being a good wedding guest – other than being a ridiculously good time – is to err on the side of subtlety. It’s always best to try to fashionably blend in.
This dress does that and more. I wore it earlier in the summer to my friend Elyse’s wedding in Denver and it was absolutely perfect. It was comfortable, conservative, and I was able to dance the night away with all my sorority sisters just like when we were in college <<< much to our husbands’ chagrin.
Whatever husbands!! That’s what weddings are all about – celebrating love and the people that you love most.
One other aspect of this dress that really makes it worth the investment is that you can entirely change your look by switching out your shoes. I wore it with nude pumps and a blush colored clutch in Denver, but here I’ve updated the look with scalloped, cobalt sandals. Depending on what look you’re going for, this dress makes it easy to mix and match accessories — and  that makes me one happy lady.
