48 Hours in Singapore: A Travel Guide

First official honeymoon post! I am the worst with travel guides, and if I don’t do them in the moment, I usually never get around to posting them. We kicked off our honeymoon with 48 hours in Singapore. The flight from San Francisco to Singapore is 17 long hours, and so the last thing I wanted to do was hop on another plane after that. I am so glad we decided to stop in Singapore because I fell in love with the city.

We stayed at the Conrad Singapore. You guys know I always stay at Conrad hotels when I can, because they are my absolute favorite and the one in Singapore did not let me down. Right in the heart of Suntec city, it is the perfect location. You can walk to Helix Bridge, the Marina Bay Sands, Art Science Musem, the Masjid Sultan, and so many other amazing tourist destinations. The pool here is amazing, and the rooms are so spacious. We ate breakfast here every single day since we were staying on the executive floor, this was complimentary and so good! The shades were SO dark, we didn’t experience any jet lag, a miracle considering we flew here in premium economy (which actually was not terrible). After visiting the Marina Bay Sands, we were SO happy we weren’t staying there. The Conrad is quiet, luxurious and felt incredibly safe. We had a huge couch, an amazing view and the bathrooms had both a bathtub and a rainfall shower.

Where to Eat:

As weird as it seems, we ate at Lavo. Somewhere I have been in Vegas before, so I felt a little silly going to eat somewhere I could easily have back home, but the view sold us on this spot. Located on the top floor of Tower 1 in the Marina Bay Sands, this is one of the best views in town. They have an outdoor bar area where you can have a drink before or after dinner. And since you have to have a key to use the pool on the same floor, this is the best way to do so.

We had breakfast every single day at the Conrad – as well as ate at their buffet – Oscars, which was AMAZING.

We had every intention to go to a Hawker Centre, but we just loved the hotel so much, we kind of mostly hung around there – next time for sure.

We had coffee and a snack at the Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands food court and I had the best pork bun I have ever had in my life!

What to Do:

Shopping

This was obviously the first thing we did! We walked from our hotel on the first morning and over the Helix bridge to the Floating Louis Vuitton store — it was epic. We spent the next few hours (mostly because it was air-conditioned) walking around the Shoppes at the Marina Bay Sands. This mall reminded both of us so much of Las Vegas. They had every single designer store you could imagine: Gucci, Fendi, Dior, Tom Ford, Prada — you name it – they were all there. And we loved it! We surprisingly didn’t end up buying anything but it was so much fun window shopping and getting our steps in.

Orchard Road. We came here just for the Off White store, but we were pleasantly surprised at the range of shops and restaurants around here. We ended up walking around for a few hours!

Tourist Activities / Sightseeing

Marina Bay Sands is something you have to see if you’re in Singapore. If you have seen Crazy Rich Asians then you know why. It truly is AMAZING. It’s so fun to walk around and there are a million things to do in that area. After visitng though, we are glad we didn’t stay there — there is just too much going on if you are looking to have a relaxing trip.

Koon Seng Road. We came here pretty much just for the gram. This tiny colorful road reminded me so much of San Francisco, and it came up so many times when I was researching Singapore on Instagram. There isn’t much to do around here, so we just went for about fifteen minutes to get our photo, and left. But it is really cute, and worth going if you want the photo. We went on a Thursday which ended up being trash day, and it was kind of hard to get the shot. So worth noting if you are there for a few days.

Gardens By the Bay & Flower Dome. Whatever you do; go here. We went to both the Cloud Forest and the Flower Dome, but the Cloud Forest was WAY better. I think I only ended up taking one photo in the flower dome. It’s $28 to get in for adults but you can easily spend a few hours here. It was so different from any place I have ever been and the waterfall is honestly worth it in and of itself.

On Our List (but we didn’t make it)

Singapore Flyer – we could see it from the pool at the Conrad though!

ArtsScience Museum– the IG shot I wanted to get was too dark for our feed; facts.

Masjid Sultan – it was honestly too hot to be outside.

Sentosa– same about the heat.

Night Safari

Merlion Park

Chinatown

Barry’s Bootcamp – wasn’t open when we were there, but it’s open now! First one in Asia!
