Thank you to Zappos for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own.
I was unsure whether I wanted to share this with everyone, but then I remembered that is kind of the point of my job. If you have been following along the past month or so, then you know I am training for a half-marathon. I have been chronicling my journey here on the blog, as well as on Instagram (see posts here and here). And then I went to Croatia on my fitness trip. Which was amazing, and full of so many amazing workouts. But the one thing I didn’t do when I was there was run — except for once on the treadmill.

I had run about 3 miles leading up to my trip. According to my training schedule, I should have been at around 5-6 miles at that time. I got back and absolutely freaked out. I should mention that I HATE running. Sure, I do it all the time. An average Barry’s class is about 2-2.5 miles for me. But that’s about as much as I can take. The farthest I have ever run in my life is a 10k which is 6.2 miles — and I have only done that twice.
So I got back from my trip and was feeling in pretty good shape. I actually lost weight on the trip and learned so much about myself. But for whatever reason, I had no motivation to keep training for this race. So I cried. Of course. I kept telling myself: “I can’t do it,” “Just quit,” “Why did I sign up for this?” I immediately regretted even saying to you guys that I was going to run this race, because I was embarrassed about quitting and I knew I just couldn’t do it. And then I remembered all of the amazing and supportive DMs you all have been sending me. I know so many people are training with me and I didn’t want to let anyone down; including myself.
The next morning, I got up and ran 3.5 miles without stopping, and a few days later I ran 5. It was on that run, that I knew I wasn’t going to quit. I just couldn’t. I was more determined than ever. On Sunday, I decided to run 7.6 miles from my house to Barry’s. I had my crew of cheerleaders there waiting for me — which meant everything. They clapped as I ran in, and then we all took class together. That was the most I have ever run in my entire life — and I didn’t even have to walk once! Sometimes it’s the little things that can really change your mindset. And I am sooooo appreciative of everyone who believed in me. I am going to crush this half- marathon, and now I’m more excited than ever!
These amazing pieces from Beyond Yoga kept me going — I know that sounds so lame. But it really is true. They are one of my favorite brands and the new fall pieces are to die for! I took all of these pieces to Croatia — because what would a fitness trip be without some amazing new gear! This top is SO SO flattering. I love the straps and the waist detail. I love that the thick straps hide the sports bra! And these leggings — insert heart eye emoji here! I love how the stripes really bring this whole outfit together.
While I’m on the topic of embarrassing stories, I may as well share another one. So I was leaving for Croatia on Thursday and I ordered these pieces from Zappos on TUESDAY. Not exactly a lot of time, but I had faith because Zappos ALWAYS comes through. Once I got the tracking number from Zappos, I managed to track down the box and had it held for me at UPS. I basically went straight from UPS to the airport and last minute threw everything in my suitcase without even trying it on. I loved every single thing I got and it has definitely helped in keeping me motivated for my training! You can see the other outfit I got in this post.
