Thank you so much to Walmart for sponsoring this post. All opinions are our own.
I am taking this whole motherhood thing day by day. I feel like the smaller chunks I take in, the easier it is to digest. I have been reading all of my parenthood books slowly, buying clothes slowly, and now I am ready to finally start getting ready for what I will need the first week at home. I consulted the best resource I know for help with surviving my first week at home with baby boy: Emily to the rescue once again.
What You Need for the First Week with a Baby
Walmart is a one-stop-shop for all things baby. They have everything you need to get through your first week at home with a newborn. While the nursery is still very much in progress, I decided to get a head start on the essentials I would need the first week after we get home from the hospital.
Diapers
I feel like this is a given. But how cute are these new ones from Kristen and Dax’s adorable new baby line, Hello Bello?
Wipes
These are the only ones Emily and her family use — and I use them every time I am at her house! These are the ones I will be using too!
Nose Frida
This nasal aspirator has a cult following – and there’s clearly a reason why! So many moms can’t live without theirs!
Blanket
Did you know this year is the 20th anniversary of Parent’s Choice? They’re Walmart’s exclusive baby brand and they have a ton of premium products for really great prices. I couldn’t help myself when I saw this adorable blanket. It’s sooo soft too!
Onesies
Another product that is a given, but I feel like the first week at home you just want to be comfy and cozy — love how simple these are!
Sleep Sack
These are another Emily fav! I mentioned these in my Baby Registry post >>> HERE. SO much easier and faster than a swaddle.
Nursing Supplies
You can read more about all of these in Emily’s breastfeeding post >>> HERE. I feel like this is such a personal thing and you never know how it’s going to go – so just be open and adaptable to the products, particular items your baby prefers.
Aquaphor
So many uses for Aquaphor when it comes to the baby — mainly, diaper rash and taking care post-circumcision. I always have this on hand for myself anyway, so it’s perfect.
Car Seat
Again, I feel like this is common sense — but we started our car seat research SO long ago because there is so much information out there, it can be overwhelming. This one is Em’s fav!
Bath Supplies
Even though baby can’t technically take a real bath the first week – you still need to have the items for when he or she can – and some stuff to get you through a few sponge baths!
