Got My Vans On But They Look Like Sneakers

Casual black midi dress, vans sneakers, leather jacket, givenchy antigona

Those of you who are regulars here at Two Peas know that I have been struggling with making sneakers work for me. They were a huge trend at NYFW this year- and all the models were rocking them off duty. Everyone, including the likes of Kendall and Gigi, seems to be able to pull off sneakers. So why was it so hard for me?

I ordered the Adidas Ultra Boosts– which I loved- but after I consulted with my expert sneaker friends, Brian and Thera, we agreed that they were too athletic- and I basically had to be Kanye to pull them off. Then I saw Erin Andrews rocking these Vans on the sideline of the 49er game. She looked so great- casual, comfortable and yet still chic. I was sold. I ordered them right away and have been wearing them non-stop ever since!
Pairing sneakers with jeans or leggings is easy- and everyone does it. So, I wanted to dress my Vans up a little bit and show that you can wear sneakers with a dress! You may think this outfit looks strange, but when you live in a city like San Francisco, and have to walk everywhere, sneakers are the way to go. I wish I was one of those girls who could run a marathon in the Nudist sandal- but the truth is, I suck at it. I am known amongst my friends as the chick who takes her shoes off at weddings- literally, every single wedding. Before cocktail hour. For me, practicality is everything.
