Have you ever had a dress that you were so in love with but then when you saw photos of yourself in it, you hated it? Well, that is the story with this dress. I loved the way it looked in the mirror, and my friends all said it was great in person. But in photos… not so much. My body type and the “skater” dress silhouette was probably not a match made in heaven. But I feel like all my dresses always look the same so I felt like taking a risk. The things we do for fashion, right?
I wore this to Bunny & Jon’s couples shower which was in the East Bay in Orinda. I had never been to Orinda before and I just loved it. The home was absolutely gorgeous with a tennis court, pool and gorgeous courtyard where we hung out all night. It was so nice to get out of the city and explore a new area. Not to mention, it was about twenty degrees warmer once we crossed the bridge.
Neon is something I just can’t stay away from. I have an olive complexion and fairly dark skin- brighter colors have always looked good on me. Now that summer is finally in full swing, I am loving all of the bright colors. Shop my favorites below!
I think you're completely mistaken – that dress looks great on you in the photos! Any fitting issues that you're worried about are completely minimized by the complimentary neon color with your complexion. You should be glad you purchased it!
