As many of you know – we went to NYFW last week, and Ashley just left yesterday!
We love going to fashion week for a variety of reasons. The first being that it is SO much fun to get together. Many of you wrote to us that it was so fun getting to see the two of us together – being the real us – because you hardly ever get to see it. That is going to change a lot over the next year now that I am blogging full time! Secondly, we LOVE the energy of New York City. Everything about the city is inspiring – and fashion week or not – it is amazing to see what people are wearing there. Next – the food. 🙂 We pretty much ate and drank our way through all of New York – we’ll save that for another post. Fourth – we take TONS of meetings while we are in New York. The meeting part of our trip is the part that you only see a little bit of. When we are not attending shows, we are meeting with brands, PR firms, and potential partners to talk about how we can expand our business and partner with them in a mutually beneficial way. Fifth – we love getting to meet and check in with our favorite blogger friends. And lastly – we love going to fashion week, because we love getting to report back to you about what is coming down the runway, what we saw from all the street style stars, and what you should be wearing next season! While we LOVE attending shows, we love looking at street style just as much. it’s like the best dress up inspiration out there. As many of you saw – we take it to a different level fashion wise when we are at fashion week – and we hope you enjoy all of our looks!

Colorful Fur:
Colorful fur was all over the runways and we LOVE LOVE LOVE this trend! It is so easy to wear, as long as you keep it classic underneath!
Snakeskin:
This is leftover from last season for sure, but snakeskin was all over the streetstyle from this fashion week. Boots, dresses, bags, and tops – you name it – snakeskin was everywhere. Our favorite ways to wear it – in nude, red or lime green. Emily just bought THESE fabulous boots, but we’ve also linked a bunch of other items to help you get the look for less!
Neon – Especially Neon Green/Yellow:
We both are HERE for the neon trend – it was hard for me to get on board – but this neon green turtleneck did the trick. Ashley will be writing about this trend in full next week so stay tuned!
White Boots:
White boots have been in for the past two seasons- but it is safe to say they aren’t going anywhere!
HUGE Belts:
Everywhere we went – from the shows to the streets – we saw people layering huge belts over jackets ad shirts. Personally we love this trend! Anything that helps define the waist is a friend of ours!
Hair Barrettes/Bobby Pins:
IF you don’t know, now you know – large barrettes, bejeweled bobby pins and turban headbands are where it’s at.
Holographic Chic:
If you didn’t see Emily’s holographic pink rain jacket dance on our instastories – you missed out big-time. All joking aside – holographic materials are in!
