What I’m Packing for Cabo

becca one piece

I posted the above photo of myself on Instagram this morning. I personally love the photo — it encompasses my personality so well. Someone commented, “Do you own a mirror?” I have grown pretty accustomed to internet haters and have come to just ignore them for the most part, I just had to address this particular comment.

Yes, I do own a mirror. No, I’m not blind. I see that I have cellulite, and stretch marks. Newsflash: most women do! I am not ashamed of them. I don’t try to hide them. I am proud of my body and everything it is capable of doing.

I wanted to bring this up because it made me sad. Not for myself, because this job has taught me to develop a thicker skin. But sad for all the other women who also have stretch marks and cellulite. People like this hateful woman are the reason other people feel the need to hide their bodies or feel ashamed about them. It’s people like them who make people insecure, force them to use Facetune, or hide underneath a coverup.   I always preach, “honor your curves” so I feel that it’s my duty to do that.

For all of you who leave me messages of encouragement about my body positive posts, those of you who leave me comments on Instagram who appreciate my realness, all of you who have written me emails or DMs about how you couldn’t have the courage to post photos in a swimsuit… please, do it. Do not let the haters win! You are all perfectly imperfect. So to you, internet troll, I do own a mirror. And I look in it every single day. Some days I hate what I see, I can’t lie. But for the most part, I am happy with my reflection. All of your positive feedback keeps me going. The most upsetting part was that it was a fellow curvy girl who left me the comment. This was a reminder to me that beauty has no shape or size, in fact, it’s not even on the outside at all.

This was supposed to be a packing post — so END RANT.

Now onto what I’m taking to Cabo. You can click on any of the items in the image below, and it will take you right to the website to shop!

If you can’t tell, I love Becca Swim. I am taking this suit that I’m wearing, as well as this one. They make me feel confident and beautiful — not even an internet stranger can change my mind on that!

As you know, I am obsessed with Raden luggage. I took it to NYFW, Paris, London and Dallas. I finally snagged the carry-on, so this will be its maiden voyage and I am STOKED!

I’m keeping my accessories pretty simple. I don’t want to take any designer sunnies, in case I lose them. So I’m packing these (under $100), this hat and beach bag!

As far as shoes, I like to keep it comfy. I’m bringing these slides I got for #rSthCon, and these platform sandals I just ordered today!

Of course, I can’t forget sunblock. I’m a longtime fan of Supergoops so I’m taking this oil as well as their new mousse that I got in my swag bag from my trip to Dallas. I can’t wait to try it!
