Last Wednesday I wore a pair of pants to work… and aside from labor, I have never been more uncomfortable in my life.
At this point – I’m 33 weeks pregnant, and although I do love some of my maternity jeans, these jeans I chose were just a horrible decision. They were cutting into my belly, my stomach began to ache, and I really couldn’t concentrate on much else all day long. My job requires pretty intense concentration, and it also requires that I’m at my desk for 8 hours a day, so leaving to go home and change just wasn’t an option. As soon as it was time to go home, I literally dashed out the door, went home, and threw the pants away. Never again I told myself.
For the next two months – screw fashion – I’m wearing what is comfortable.
So, I’ve found a couple of non maternity pieces that really work for me and this grey tank dress – for just $55 is on the top of my list. This dress is non maternity, it comes in 7 colors, and the price point really can’t be beat. Also – the fact that it is non maternity makes it super attractive, because I know I can wear it after the baby comes too. For any of our pregnant mommas out there – something else that makes it the perfect addition to your closet is that it is very nursing friendly. The material is nice and stretchy, so you can wear a nursing bra underneath and just pull the dress aside.
Size wise, I am wearing a size medium, but as with most things, if I wasn’t in my third trimester, I would definitely take the small.
As for styling, for the next couple months, I’ll wear it as I have here – with my favorite long cardigan. I also think it would be super cute with a jean jacket for the summer months. I just picked it up in black, navy, and tan, and I’m pretty sure these will be all I’ll be wearing. One last thing about this amazing tank dress. Unlike other tank dresses out there that show every lump and bump, this one is pretty roomy and the fabric is not clingy at all – making it perfect for hot summer days. It really is the most flattering tank dress I’ve found. I also love that you can wear a normal bra underneath it – score!
